During this meeting other matters of mutual interest to enhance further relationships between the two countries within the parameters of agreements reached between Pakistan and Afghanistan during the maiden visit of the Afghan President to Pakistan also came under discussion.

The Afghan ambassador was briefed how a water treaty between the two nations regarding use of waters from River Kabul will create further trust and help the people of the region.

The likely visit by a Track II team of experts from the Afghan Policy Group to Peshawar in Feb/March under the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung “Afghanistan Post 2014” peace project was also discussed.

Later a lunch was hosted by Mr. Khalid Aziz, Chairman RIPORT in honor of the Afghan Ambassador and his delegation who had earlier been welcomed profusely.
